CREMERIE de PARIS
(Hotel de Villeroy Bourbon)

The Hôtel VB - whose courtyard is visible through the Cremerie de Paris - has existed since 1129.
Marguerite de Navarre, grandmother of the Bourbons, already knew it.
The sister of François I was a friend of Leonardo da Vinci and Nicolas II de Villeroy.
Nicolas IV de Villeroy was Secretary of State under Charles IX, Henry III, Henry IV, and Louis XIII.
His wife, Madeleine de Villeroy, held a literary salon there until 1596.

1640 Their grandson, Nicolas V de Villeroy, had the current building rebuilt.
All the Bourbon Kings passed through our courtyard, where Louis XIV spent part of his childhood.
1671 to 1738, the "Royal Post Office" was located here, belonging to the Pajot & Rouillé family.
Louis Léon Pajot carried mail to Venice and the Thurn & Taxis post relays.
"Telecommunications" spirit fell asleep but remained within our walls...

1986, a Thurn & Taxis postman made the story return,
enabling the opening of Cremerie de Paris N°2 as a Sony Phone Boutique.
1993, the phones and a small piece of jewelry left by Coco Chanel
led to the acquisition of the legendary Cremerie de Paris N°1.
The landmark of the former Les Halles market reopened as an Internet café.

Many pioneers, almost all American, have visited here.
One invented "dot com," another was on the first flight to the moon.
Steve Jobs gave us an iMac so Apple could have a presence in the Internet café.
Others - much younger - created brands that are returning today.
2012, their Pop-Up Stores and Showrooms began to make Cremerie de Paris a
"Meeting Place of the World's Most Famous Brands."
